I am Vikas Pandey, a PhD candidate in Space Science and Technology at IIT Jodhpur, with a background in Electronics and Communication Engineering from NERIST, Arunachal Pradesh.
My academic path has taken me from fundamental electronics to research in AlGaN/GaN HEMT-based sensors for space applications. I have pursued diverse interests and experiences. As an Electronics student, I explored circuits, devices, and microprocessors, gradually expanding into digital design, robotics, and automation. As a Robotics trainer, I honed my teaching skills and deepened my understanding of coding and machine learning. I also became fascinated with 3D printers, dedicating my free time mastering their intricacies. These experiences fueled my thirst for knowledge, leading me to research after completing my M.Tech. I worked as a Research and Development Engineer before commencing my PhD.
I am currently working on the development of gas and radiation sensors using AlGaN/GaN High Electron Mobility Transistor (HEMT) structures, under the guidance of Prof. Mahesh Kumar and Dr. Ankur Gupta at IIT Jodhpur.
I welcome collaboration and dialogue in:
Micro and Nanofabrication
Device design
Gas and Radiation Sensing
IoT-based sensing systems
Biomedical Electronics
Interdisciplinary academic-industry partnerships
Outside the lab, I enjoy writing poetry and mentoring students in science and technology. I believe creativity and education are essential to building a holistic research culture.
